Invisalign Care at Our Tarrytown, New York Office
When we tell a patient they need braces, we often see a reaction as they consider wearing metal brackets and wires for a couple of years. When we tell them they are good candidates for Invisalign treatment and show them sample aligners, they are all smiles.
With Invisalign orthodontic treatment, our patients wear virtually invisible acrylic aligners night and day. If they want, they can keep the secret of their orthodontic treatment.
How the Process Starts
The Invisalign process starts with a careful oral examination, imaging and measurements. This information is all transmitted to Invisalign technicians who 3D-print a series of clear aligners.

and we bring our Invisalign patient in to try on the first one. We want to make sure that treatment is going to start off exactly right. We show the patient how to fit the aligners over their teeth, how long to wear them, how to keep them clean and so on
Are you concerned about Invisalign’s cost? The Invisalign price will vary depending on the complexity of the orthodontic situation. In most cases, the prices will be comparable to those of conventional braces.
What is really expensive is failing to correct the alignment of your teeth. Did you know that the difficulty in cleaning crooked teeth often means that more cavities will develop? When teeth overlap and have hard-to-reach corners, our patients can’t get a toothbrush into those corners. Sometimes it’s impossible to slide floss between tightly-spaced teeth.
When teeth are hard to properly clean, plaque builds up which means that decay can get started. It also means that gum disease becomes more common in these corners. This is why it is so important to start orthodontic treatment as soon as possible, before decay or gum disease can spoil your smile and even your health.
You might be surprised at the complexity of the cases that respond to this treatment. Of course, crooked teeth can be corrected but so can many other situations of poor alignment and incorrect bite, including:

Invisalign Braces Guide Your Teeth
When you’re being treated with Invisalign, these aligners move your teeth into their correct positions very gradually. Over a period of a year or two (depending on the complexity of the case), a patient switches from one aligner to the next every week or two. By the time they reach the last assigner in the series, their teeth have moved into their correct positions and now are beautifully aligned.
Invisalign Before and After
When we recommend braces for a patient, one of the most common questions we have is “How long will I need to wear them?” They like the idea of virtually-invisible braces, but they don’t want this to make the correction take longer.
We are happy to reassure them that Invisalign treatment generally takes about the same time as metal wire-and-bracket braces. In some cases, Invisalign may actually take less time.
Invisalign Helps Save Your Teeth in Other Ways, Too
When your teeth are crooked, your upper teeth and lower teeth don’t meet in exactly the right way. This means that there will be stresses on parts of your teeth not built for those stresses. Chipping and fracturing become more common.
This misalignment can even throw off the balance of your jaw bones and muscles which can contribute to headaches, earaches and jaw pain. Aligning your teeth and jaws relieves stress on the teeth, bones and muscles. And that can be quite relaxing.
